Total Wine just came out with their top 20 wines for 2013 and this delicious red was ranked #9. And I have to agree that this was a worthy wine to be placed on that list.
This medium-bodied Italian red was made exclusively from organic grapes and is a blend of Sangiovese and Montelpulciano varietals. I had never tasted any of this vintner’s wine before and was pleasantly surprised by its earthy taste. This red’s berry-scented bouquet with hints of almond and mint as well as its cherry and plum-flavored, yet spicy palate was so enjoyable that I will definitely be purchasing it again soon. With its softer acidity and slightly dry, zesty finish it is the perfect wine to pair with just about any meal.
Serve at a cool 65 degrees and allow to breathe for an hour prior to serving. And the best part – it is even better the second day (if there is any left)!
*A great wine for the price so stock up while you can!
